Executive Advisor UK
Mark was part of the Founder team at Betfair, which means he's annoyed a lot of Australians over the years; and a lot of English people too, for that matter. But in the process he helped build one of the few iconic web businesses to come out of the UK, and create a company which gave seed investors a 132x return and is currently valued on the LSE at over £1bn.
Now, he runs his own strategic communications agency in London, Camberton, advising on media and government issues. Before Betfair, he was at the BBC for five years, and continues to appear on the box occasionally reviewing newspapers and giving views about one thing or another. He's a non-exec director at RateSetter, a company seeking to do for finance what Betfair did for betting, and Probability plc, and is an investor in a host of early-stage businesses.
He still graces the football pitch once a week throughout the year, despite the fact that he started slow and has got slower. Form is temporary though, as he keeps reminding us.
